In partnership with the Hurricanes Alumni, Raise My game are offering retiring or retired Hurricanes players an opportunity to have a confidential face-to-face or online conversation to help figure out the next steps for you and your family. The conversation may confirm what you are already thinking, or generate some new ideas.

After the initial planning meeting, if you think it would be helpful for us to mentor you through the next stage, you have the option to receive ongoing support for you and your family. The cost will be met by the Hurricanes Alumni. The expression of interest is now open until July 16.

“I’ve taken time to settle my family back in NZ. Now that they are all happy, I’m ready for a new challenge – knowing that no decision I make will be forever, gives me the courage to just give a range of things a go, whilst building experience along the way”.     – Victor Vito

“Retiring from rugby can be hard, irrespective of the level you were playing at. Suddenly all the structures that support you as an individual, as a part of the team, are gone. I was fortunate to have some great people help guide me through that first year. One of the key things I did was to dive headfirst into something new, fully prepared to fail. Just like footy, that’s where the real gold (as well as learning) comes from.”    – Tim Bateman

“When I retired from Rugby, I had a lot of different ideas about things wanted to do and I also wanted to prioritise time with my family. Having someone to help me and Lee-anne plan and prepare would have been extremely valuable.”                       – Conrad Smith
